Overview

In v4.1, CrossView's cross-channel commerce portfolio of software has been enhanced, and is now interoperable with multiple e-commerce platforms such as Hybris, Magento, Oracle/ATG, and more. All of the components of CrossView's cross-channel commerce solution can now function as standalone applications. Business logic has been added to the Enterprise layer, and an open-source technology stack has been leveraged to handle the messaging between existing systems and our Cross-Channel commerce solution. This simplified and consistent approach reduces customer investment and, ultimately, lowers implementation costs. New features to all our products, and well as the general introduction of CrossView Mobile Point of Sale, round out the our offering to help our customers become market-leading retailers in their own right.

CrossView Enterprise

CrossView Enterprise has a new architecture that uses the Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) model. The ESB acts as a broker between the legacy application (Commerce platform, Order Management, CRM, and Warehouse Management) systems to transmit information such as customer, product, and inventory using asynchronous and synchronous messaging to and from each application. Promotion rules, order calculation, tax and payment, are all local to the Enterprise, allowing standalone processing (no connectivity to the backend systems), and an ability to enhance business logic in a single place, with a single point of integration. This new architecture introduces you to an efficient solution that provides a single point to manage, and control your business.

CrossView Proxy

Feature Pack 1 contains instructions to optionally install CrossView Proxy on top of an open source middleware stack, instead of IBM middleware. The following OpenSource middleware software replaces the IBM middleware stack:

  • Apache Tomcat instead of IBM WebSphere Application Server
  • Apache ActiveMQ instead of IBM WebSphere MQ
  • MySQL instead of IBM UDB (DB2)
  • Apache HTTP Server instead of IHS

For more information, see Installing CrossView Proxy using open-source middleware.

CrossView Mobile POS

CrossView Mobile Point of Sale brings in-store sales staff directly to the customer. Using this powerful, hand-held technology, sales associates can interact with customers in new ways, establishing one-on-one relationships that can deepen customer loyalty and increase wallet share.

This powerful technology combines intelligence and flexibility to deliver a superior shopping experience for consumers, and new and exciting service opportunities for in-store sales associates. Through CrossView Mobile Point of Sale, for instance, inventory can be checked easily. Payments can be taken quickly. Service is delivered flexibly and more efficiently.

CrossView Customer Care and CrossView Point of Sale

CrossView Customer Care integrates insight from multiple customer touch points. It delivers a single view of all customer activity – whether it’s web-browsing histories, details about in-store purchases or insight into available promotions. This integrated intelligence makes it easier for your call-center teams to answer customer questions and to offer assistance in placing orders or identifying available merchandise. CrossView Point of Sale is a next-generation solution unifying the customer’s in-store experience with other primary sales channels – the Web, mobile, call centers, catalogs and self-service platforms.

Building on our current release of CrossView Customer Care, and CrossView Point of Sale, v4.1 offers the following new capabilities:

  • Returns - Returns can be performed in both CrossView Point of Sale, and CrossView Customer Care, allowing customers the option to return items in the format they are comfortable with.

  • BOPIS (Buy Online Pickup In Store) - Customers can shop on the web, or interact with a CSR using CrossView Customer Care, and have the option to pick-up their items at a store location. BOPIS information from CrossView Web Store and CrossView Customer Care, is visible in CrossView POS, providing a seamless shopping experience.

See Returns and Working with BOPIS orders for more information.

CrossView Intelligent Advisor

CrossView Intelligent Advisor offers a holistic view of customers and their buying behaviors across all sales channels and throughout the customer lifecycle. It assembles a single portrait of each customer from snapshots of their shopping behavior across discrete retail sales channels to help optimize sales.

Building on the current release of Intelligent Advisor, Feature Pack 1 offers the following new capabilities:

  • Recommendation Overrides - The new Recommendation Overrides perspective in the CrossView Retail Management Console enables you to define and maintain recommendation overrides at the category, brand, and product level in the context of a Catalog. For example, if you do not want Brand B to be recommended with Brand A, you can set up an override to make sure that this never occurs, similarly, you can set up overrides to always recommend certain products or brands. This can aid in your precision marketing efforts, as well as become a valuable input to your analytics endeavors.

See The Recommendation Overrides perspective for more information.
