Job Title: Director of Quality

Role Description:
CrossView’s Director of Quality role exists to provide process and sustained improvement to the execution of the entire CrossView business model, driving the CrossView quality strategy and ensuring that quality is achieved across all areas of the organization: software product development, testing, systems architecture and performance, client support, documentation and beyond. In partnership with Sr. Management, the Director of Quality identifies areas of critical execution shortfalls, with the overall goal of improving business processes and meeting or exceeding expectations.


Primary Objectives & Responsibilities:
Include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for establishing a quality culture within all areas of the organization; each area of the organization has critical improvement areas identified with plans of action and performance and improvement metrics identified

  • Designs, executes and maintains a Quality Assurance Management plan across all areas of the organization, including the necessary definition, development and deployment of quality assurance strategies that align with overall business strategy, objectives and KPI’s that are measured and drives future performance

  • Responsible for tracking and reporting on before and after metrics on quality improvement processes

  • Utilizes various testing methodologies; scope includes unit, functional, integration, user acceptance and performance testing; produces test cases that are repeatable across various test types

  • Defines and implements the Quality strategies for each area, promoting continuous quality achievement and improvement, monitoring compliance, identifying deficiencies and evaluating and minimizing their potential impact on the organization

  • Liaises with the Senior Executive team and other management teams to develop the Quality strategy and define quality standards in each area; works closely with group managers and team leaders to ensure quality is implemented as part of their processes and that quality standards are adhered to

  • Implements ongoing quality improvement processes across all areas; implements standardization across the organization with repeatable defined processes

  • Identifies relevant quality-related training needs;consults with management regarding people performance issues and assists managers skills/knowledge development

  • Assists in developing performance standards and metrics and removing organizational barriers that impede performance

  • Focuses on developing a quality driven organization using tools to reduce overall cost, improve delivery and improve customer satisfaction

  • Looks for ways to remove waste and non-value added processes to improve overall financial metrics


Education & Experience Required:
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline and a minimum of 8 years QA experience, including a minimum of four years leading and managing QA teams. Six Sigma Black Belt certification or similar process driven methodology a strong plus. Previous software development experience with a software product company or systems integrator or consulting firm required. Familiarity with web application development and Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL and XML skills and exp. required. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in successful implementation of Quality Systems throughout an organization required; previous experience with both on and offshore technical teams in a quality role a strong plus. Previous experience with automating test cases with tools such as Selenium, HP Quality Center a strong plus.

The incumbent in this role will demonstrate the ability to develop, document and implement an organizational Quality management strategy in line with the overall business requirements; strategic influencing skills, including the ability to promote continuous improvements in Quality processes and initiatives at all levels and across all areas of the organization; demonstrates strong leadership and influencing skills with groups such as executives, implementation and product development teams within a matrix organization; diplomacy skills including the ability to withstand pressures and say 'no' to other managers when quality is insufficient or processes are not being adhered to; strong analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to understand and critique requirements; well-developed project management skills including project planning, estimation and release management; excellent communications skills including the ability to prepare and present to a range of audiences; strong interpersonal and presentation skills.


Location / Travel Requirement:
We have 3 formal office locations in Research Triangle Park, NC, Toronto, ON and Noida, India. Our employees are not required to live near our office locations and can work remotely. There is a 50% travel requirement for this position.
