Service Oriented Architecture Approach Drives Business Agility and Flexibility

CrossView, Inc., a leading provider of on-demand multi-channel retail solutions, today announced its acceptance to the IBM SOA Specialty after successfully completing IBM's rigorous SOA technical and business requirements. With this achievement CrossView's multi-channel retail solution integrates with the IBM SOA Foundation, a single, integrated platform that combines the industry's top application server and integration capabilities.

"SOA is an increasingly important business requirement for organizations because of the business flexibility it enables," said Sandy Carter, vice president, SOA and WebSphere, IBM Software Group. "CrossView's commitment to SOA provides their customers with a powerful way to reduce integration costs while rapidly deploying operational retail applications."

CrossView's multi-channel retail solution is the industry's first suite of products designed to bring critical information to retailers at the lowest possible total cost of ownership (TCO). Compliance with SOA standards enables CrossView's Multi-Channel Retail Applications to immediately link to all SOA-compliant data sources and applications, and allows CrossView technology to be easily integrated with third-party portals and process management applications.

CrossView uses SOA-based web services to capture transactions from key operational systems, and utilizes XML and WSDL standards to process data and metadata definitions. CrossView is also capable of initiating workflows and processes via web-service calls.

"Support for SOA is critical to reducing the cost and time to deployment for our solutions, as they need to integrate disparate data and interoperate with other applications," said Drake Philbrook, Chief Technology Officer of CrossView, Inc. "SOA compliance also enables CrossView to provide a best-of-breed multi-channel retail offering to our partners such as IBM, who easily integrate with our core infrastructure using web service calls."
