Santa Clara, CA — May 7, 2012 — CrossView, Inc., a cross-channel commerce solutions and retail technology provider, today announced that Apparel Magazine has awarded Moosejaw, an outdoor specialty retailer, as one of its 2012 Top Innovators. Moosejaw was recognized for its unique and creative customer engagement strategies through the use of CrossView’s mobile point of sale technology, which has been deployed in all of the retailer’s store locations.
Each Moosejaw store location is equipped with two Apple iPod Touches outfitted with a Linea Pro cradle containing a magnetic stripe reader and barcode scanner. Because the mobile POS devices are integrated into the CrossView cross-channel commerce platform, Moosejaw sales associates have the whole enterprise in their pocket, allowing them to engage with the customer through the entire checkout process, as well as price checking and inventory management. The mobile POS enhances the customer shopping experience by providing more efficient service on the store floor and without long lines, ultimately equating to more sales. The company is among the first of its size to embrace mobile POS technology.
Moosejaw is known for its “quirky” sense of humor to its retailing approach, which has earned the company a strong customer base in all retail channels. The retailer boasts that its goal “is to be the most fun outdoor retailer on the plant.” Moosejaw incorporates not only cutting edge technology such as social and mobile commerce, but often down-right silliness, including a blog from the company's cleaning lady, dating tips and other oddities geared toward the company's young, hip demographic.
The 2012 Top Innovators were selected by Apparel Magazine’s editors from nominations within the apparel retail market. The winning companies, which include apparel manufacturers, brands and retailers, were chosen based on innovative approaches or strategies in their business – such as a new product, improvement in operations or an innovative adoption of technology.
